MMA Series heavyweight champion Dimitry Andryushko is continuing preparations for his upcoming title defense against Francimar 'Bodao' Barroso.
The fight is scheduled for Sept. 5 in Moscow and will headline MMA Series-95.
Andryushko is holding his training camp in Yekaterinburg, Russia, where he has been working with members of the Archangel Michael team as well as Igor Glazkov.
During camp, the Russian heavyweight has occasionally crossed paths in the gym with reigning UFC bantamweight champion Petr Yan. According to Andryushko, the two fighters follow separate training programs, although Yan did get a chance to test the heavyweight's durability with a shot to the body.
“Petr Yan comes in to train, so we run into each other sometimes,” Andryushko told Yulia Mirey of MMA-TV.com. “It’s not like we do any one-on-one work together. He has his own stuff going on, and I have mine.
“The only thing was, one time we were messing around playing tag. But Petr can really crack — he caught me in the stomach. Bang, bang. Yeah, I definitely felt that.”
