Andrey Vasilenko will return to the cage on September 5 at MMA Series-95 in Moscow, where “Anthracite” will take on Belarusian fighter Dmitry Papovich.
The matchup will be contested under MMA Gloves Series rules, with the action taking place exclusively on the feet — no wrestling or ground fighting will be allowed.
For Vasilenko, the bout will be an opportunity to test himself in a pure striking format. The Russian is well known to MMA fans for his experience in mixed martial arts, while Papovich brings an extensive background in boxing and bare-knuckle competition. The Belarusian has also competed in the Hardcore Fighting Grand Prix.
Vasilenko was previously scheduled to face Arsen Nersesyan at MMA Series-95, but the bout was called off due to unforeseen circumstances.
MMA Series-95 takes place September 5 at the International Boxing Center in Moscow. In the main event, heavyweight champion Dimitriy Andryushko will defend his title against Francimar Barroso.
