Azerbaijan’s Tahir Abdullaev made a successful UFC debut Saturday, finishing Brazil’s Jefferson Nascimento at UFC Fight Night 280 in Baku.
The welterweight bout opened the card and was scheduled for three rounds, but Abdullaev made sure it did not reach the judges. He secured the win by technical knockout in the third round.
For Abdullaev, who previously competed in MMA Series, the victory marked the 22nd of his professional career. His record now stands at 22-3.
Nascimento, meanwhile, suffered the first loss of his career. The Brazilian entered the fight unbeaten at 13-0.
