Reigning MMA Series heavyweight champion Dimitriy Andryushko has shared his thoughts on the upcoming fight between Alexander Volkov and Rizvan Kuniev at UFC 333.
According to Andryushko, Kuniev has made significant improvements in recent months. The Russian heavyweight has always possessed strong technical skills, but his continued physical development has made him an even more dangerous opponent, including for an experienced veteran like Volkov.
"Rizvan Kuniev is a tough matchup for Alexander Volkov, no doubt about it. He's been gaining momentum. He's always been a technically skilled fighter, and now he's taken his game to another level physically. He's become more athletic. I think Volkov's team will find a way to get the win, but I don't expect it to be easy. I'm rooting for Volkov and I want to see him become champion," Andryushko said.
Despite Kuniev's improvements, the MMA Series champion is backing Volkov, believing that his experience and his team's game plan could make the difference.
Volkov and Kuniev are scheduled to face off on October 24 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. A victory could bring Volkov one step closer to a UFC heavyweight title shot, while Kuniev will have an opportunity to strengthen his position among the division's top contenders.
