MMA Series director and matchmaker Fedor Ryzhov has offered his prediction for the upcoming UFC featherweight title fight between Alexander Volkanovski and Movsar Evloev.

The bout is scheduled for Oct. 24 in Abu Dhabi and will headline UFC 333. Volkanovski will put his featherweight championship on the line, while Evloev will challenge for a UFC title for the first time in his career.

Ryzhov believes a full training camp for the reigning champion could prove to be a key factor in the matchup.

“Whenever Alex has a full camp, he always delivers high-level performances,” Ryzhov said. “I think Movsar’s zero finishes in the UFC will remain unchanged — but the zero in his loss column won’t.

“That said, everyone knows how good Movsar is. His level is beyond question.”

Evloev remains undefeated as a professional with a 20-0 record. The Russian has also yet to lose in the UFC, though all of his victories inside the Octagon have come by decision.

Volkanovski enters the matchup as the reigning UFC featherweight champion and one of the most experienced fighters in the division.

On Oct. 24, Evloev will look not only to capture UFC gold for the first time, but also to preserve his perfect professional record.
