The UFC has officially announced the promotional debut of Azerbaijani welterweight Tahir Abdullaev, who is scheduled to compete June 27 at UFC Fight Night 280 in Baku.

Abdullaev will face unbeaten Brazilian prospect Jefferson Nascimento in a welterweight bout.

Abdullaev enters his UFC debut with a professional record of 19 wins and 3 losses. In his most recent outing, he competed at GFC 33, where he submitted Siavash Dadras with a second-round choke.

Before signing with the UFC, Abdullaev competed across several international and regional promotions, including MMA Series, UAE Warriors, Fight Nights and Ural FC.

Nascimento remains undefeated as a professional, holding a 13-0 record. In September 2025, he defeated Basangur Makaev by unanimous decision at LFA 218 before extending his winning streak later in LFA.

In the main event of UFC Fight Night 280, Rafael Fiziev will take on Manuel Torres.
