Former MMA Series fighter Bakhtovar Yunusov, who now competes in ACA, looked back on his toughest fights with the promotion and revealed which victory means the most to him.
Yunusov racked up nine wins during his MMA Series run, including seven finishes. Among his toughest opponents, he singled out Shakhpur Salaev and Bakdoolot Isakov.
"Salaev was a very good opponent. I was still early in my professional career at the time. He came in with the wrong game plan, and that's why he lost. But he could have beaten me that night," Yunusov admitted.
Against Isakov, Yunusov said his biggest mistake was underestimating his opponent.
"I thought I'd finish him in a minute, but things didn't go as planned. I ended up having to fight all three rounds."
Yunusov identified his victory over Magomed Kadiev at MMA Series-55 in September 2022 as the most meaningful of his career. He secured a second-round submission to capture the league's bronze belt.
"It was a real test of what kind of fighter I was and what I was capable of. I passed that test, submitted him and took home the belt. After that, people started recognizing me more and taking me more seriously," Yunusov said in an interview with the "Territory MMA-TV.com" show.
