MMA Series welterweight champion Sergey Bobryshev has revealed that he previously had an opportunity to continue his career outside Russia.

According to Bobryshev, ONE Championship had shown interest in signing him, but the potential move to the Asian promotion ultimately did not materialize.

“Did I get any offers from overseas? There was one. I believe it was from ONE FC, but it didn’t work out. There wasn’t enough time. It was disappointing, but I told myself, ‘It means not now. The time hasn’t come yet,’” Bobryshev said in an interview with South Side.

Despite the failed move abroad, Bobryshev continued competing in MMA Series and established himself as one of the promotion’s leading fighters.

Bobryshev has fought 21 times in MMA Series, earning 16 wins, four losses and one draw. Eleven of his victories have come by knockout.

His next fight is scheduled for Dec. 12 at MMA Series 96.
