Viktor Kolesnik stops Koyomi Matsushima at RIZIN Landmark 16 in Nagasaki

Russian featherweight and former MMA Series fighter Viktor Kolesnik scored a second-round TKO victory at RIZIN Landmark 16, held Oct. 3 in Nagasaki, Japan.

Kolesnik faced veteran Japanese featherweight Koyomi Matsushima and needed just 20 seconds of the second round to get the finish. The Russian took control early in the round, landed a decisive combination and forced the referee to step in, giving Kolesnik the TKO victory at the 0:20 mark.

The win marked Kolesnik’s first successful outing following back-to-back losses. In September 2025, he suffered a TKO defeat to reigning RIZIN champion Rajabali Shaidulloev. He then stepped in on short notice against Koji Takeda in March 2026 and lost by unanimous decision.

With the victory over Matsushima, Kolesnik has now won five of his seven appearances under the RIZIN banner.

The matchup also carried significant contractual implications for the Russian. Ahead of the event, it was reported that the Matsushima fight would be the final bout on Kolesnik’s current RIZIN deal. In its pre-fight coverage, the promotion indicated that a strong performance could play an important role in determining whether the two sides continue working together.

Before beginning his run in Japan, Kolesnik competed in MMA Series, where he went a perfect 4-0 in four appearances.

Following his victory in Nagasaki, the 30-year-old Kolesnik improved his professional MMA record to 28-6-1.
